The Arval Business Activation process is a method that gives Arval the opportunity to determine with its clients the objectives they want to achieve at a European scale, not only in terms of savings, but also by offering a solution that matches the culture and particular issues of each country. The process covers three distinct phases:
The Pre-Implementation phase starts with a European strategy meeting to scope out activities and responsibilities, including information-sharing and updates. |
During this phase, Arval and its international clients work together in each country to share data and to set up the right processes for smooth and efficient running of the fleet. |
The final phase includes review meetings at country and international level. Arval makes a commitment to debrief, survey and to plan the next steps.

With 12 different fleet suppliers in Europe, back in 2005, Nielsen saw an opportunity to streamline its supply chain, introduce common standards and achieve significant savings across the region. Arval was invited to carry out a consulting mission to identify the potential benefits of a European fleet management contract and a harmonised car policy.
“We did achieve the savings we identified. Arval is a highly professional and ethical business partner, I don’t think there is anything they could have done better”
says Pam Atherton, European HR Director.
